Each week I’m trying to share my Conversations with Today’s Creative Bloggers.
TCB used to be one of the first sites to feature bloggers…….way back in the day. There weren’t too many creative blogs and it was a great way to find them. We no longer need help finding some of the best blogs out there, but we sure would like to know more about some of our favorite bloggers, right?
All of us instantly bonded and have been great friends since. Amy is as delightful in person as her blog is online. She’s very soft spoken and I’d venture to say……a bit shy. But only at first. Once you get to know her, she’s got the best sense of humor. If you’re not familiar with The Idea Room, you’ll be in for an extra special treat. So much inspiration, ALL. THE. TIME!
Amy has great house projects. I thought the room makeover she did for her daughter was adorable. Loved the tufted headboard she made.
Amy makes yummy stuff. From dipped Oreo’s to Lemon cake.
Amy makes more scrubs than I do! We love our body scrubs. This Peppermint Body Scrub is to die for!
Kim: Why did you choose to start a blog? And what do you hope people learn and take away from visiting your site?
Amy: I started my blog to share my projects with family and friends who were living far away and interested in my latest home and family projects.
Kim: How did you choose your blog name?
Amy: Totally random and boring…haha! I would have given it more thought had I known it would grow into what it has. It would definitely be more clever and creative.
Kim: If you had to choose a paint color to live with the rest of your life, what would it be?
Amy: Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter or Wind’s Breath…or Quiet Moments! haha! I clearly have commitment issues! But all of those I LOVE!!
Kim:What would you consider your biggest decorating secret or strength?
Amy: Being willing to just try something thing. You never know how much you love or hate something until you are willing to just go for it. You can always change it if you don’t like it!
Kim: Mac or PC?
Amy: Both. Ha! Did I mention commitment issues? I use both for different things! Mac Desktop and PC Laptop.
Kim: If you suddenly had a full weekend to yourself, what would you do?
Amy: Sleep, read and little and finish up some projects in peace and quiet. Pull out my secret chocolate stash!
Kim: If you had a 5 minute shopping spree at your favorite craft store, what products would you grab first?
Amy: Paper and my favorite fabrics to add to my hoard…I mean stash!
Kim: If you had a 5 minute shopping spree at Home Goods, Pottery Barn, etc… What would you grab first?
Amy: Bedding! I am obsessed with it!
Kim: You’re having a party…..what appetizers would you serve?
Amy: Chips and Dips! And Guacamole! I LOVE me some Guacamole!
Kim: Night owl, or early bird?
Amy: Night owl for sure!
Kim: What is your favorite room in your home and why?
Amy: I LOVE my office. It is bright and cheery and lots of goodness and creativity occurs in here. It is my own personal space filled with the things I love.
Kim: Before blogging, what did you do?
Amy: umm…I can’t remember. I was probably normal and did normal people things. I probably watched tv without a computer on my lap and read a book in one sitting.
Kim: Do you ever think about giving up blogging?
Amy: Yes. More often than not. But I continue to do it because I love it!
Kim: What’s one thing you don’t think your readers know about you?
Amy: I used to ride horses quite well and competed in jumping and barrel racing!
Kim: What’s one of your favorite posts?
Amy: One of my favorites has to be of my favorite project ever…the tufted headboard we made for my youngest daughter’s room.
Well, there you have it! What would you ask Amy?
