While I’m hanging out in the Craft State of Utah for most of July, I’ve twisted the arms of a few BBFF (bloggy best friends forever) and talked them into sharing their favorite craft items.
Make Craft Items
I’ve asked many past features to share their 5 favorite craft projects. Today Bev from Flamingo Toes is my guest. This girl can make crafting look so so easy! I first featured Bev way back when.
5 Craft Project Ideas
Hello all!! I am so excited to be here at Today’s Creative Blog!!
My name is Bev and I blog over at Flamingo Toes.
Kim is sooo one of my blogging heroes – and the fact that she uses her blog as a platform to highlight other creative people just shows you how awesome she is.
What you might not know is that Kim is so sweet and super funny in real life. Being featured by her is pretty much one of the best things that can happen to you in this little blogging land.
So of course I was thrilled when she asked me to share my Top Five Favorite Posts with you all!
I have a bit of blogging ADD – I love to do all sorts of projects! But I’m mostly into sewing, jewelry, home decor, clothing, and embroidery.
Actually pretty much the only thing you won’t find much of at Flamingo Toes are paper crafts. They scare me.
So here are my Top Five Favorite Projects!
Making a Frame
5. I made these Simple Spring Framed Vases last year and they are still one of my favorite projects.
They were crazy easy, but they make the room look so fresh and pretty with their little flowers in them.
Making a Potholder
4. The “You are so hot!” Potholder. I love to make things that are fun for the kitchen – like aprons, dishtowels, and really cute potholders.
Because really, why wouldn’t you want to pull brownies out of the oven with a potholder that looks like a note you wrote in high school?
Making a Clutch Purse
3. This is kind of cheating because there are actually four projects here – but I’m going to sneak it in anyway. I did a series of four clutches, all from the same pattern, but with completely different looks!
We have the Retro 70′s Clutch, the Vintage Lace Clutch, the Applique Clutch and the Ruffle Clutch. And now I have a purse for pretty much any occasion, even Go-Go parties.
Making a Bracelet
2. This sweet Lace and Pearl Bracelet was one of my first jewelry projects and it’s still one of my favorites.
Funny story – I made this bracelet on a road trip, in the car. This pretty green background in all the shots is actually my pillow on my lap.
Crafting in the car = fun. Taking photos while bumping along the highway? Not so much.
I may have deleted a billion blurry photos to get the few that are in this tutorial
Making a Sunburst Mirror
1. Silverware Starburst Mirror
I think this might be my favorite – though it’s super hard to choose! It’s just so fun – and sentimental at the same time.
I made it using silverware that we used when we were first married and it makes me smile every time I see it.
And that wraps it up!! It was so fun to look back through the archives and choose some favorites!
I hope you liked them too.
If you want to check out some of my other projects, my tutorials page is here. I’d love for you to stop by!
Thank you SO much for having me over Kim!! Totally the Second Best Day of My Life.

Oh I love the pearl bracelet!
Definitely some of my favorite “Bev” projects! I’m still blown away by the silverware starburst mirror. So amazingly creative!
