Spooky DIY Halloween Decorations

Decorating for Halloween doesn’t have to be expensive. You can create easy DIY Halloween Decorations to make your own creepy halloween decor.  Michele from Sustainably Chic Designs shows you how you can create a scary theme quickly. I always dream of really going out like her and decking out the house with scary stuff.  My son would think I’m the coolest mom on earth…….wait…….he better think that already. :)

 DIY Halloween Ideas

I love this idea.  You see these cheese trays in Goodwill all the time.  What a great way to reinvent them.   While you’re at Goodwill, grab any wooden candle stick.  DIY Halloween decorating

Glue the candle stick to the bottom of the cheese tray.  Using any kind of spray paint, spray it black.

Plop a skull inside with a bit of mossy stuff and you’ve got yourself a very cool Halloween decoration.  Love it!Decorating with skulls

Here’s another easy and fun way to decorate for Halloween.  She even got her boys involved.  She’s got the full tutorial on her blog, but it looks like all you need is a few random jars.  Spray paint the tops and fill them with all kinds of scary things.  creepy halloween decoration

Isn’t that gross? bloody halloween decor

I’m thinking maybe I should get my rump in gear and do a few of these before I have Ladies Bunco. She also has a few furniture re-do’s…….squeal!

Oh how I love those.  There is nothing better than finding a piece of unwanted furniture and making it pretty!  Who needs those expensive furniture stores anyway?painting furniture

She’s got a better imagination than me……….and obviously no heebie jeebie disorder.  I love the design of this chair, but there is NO way I’m touching  that padding.  It’s a good thing there are people like Michele to rescue these diamonds in the rough.

Can you even tell it’s the same chair?  It’s lovely.  It turned out beautiful!  It pays to have a vision.  I’d  touch it now, heck I’d even sit in it. Certainly her prize and reward for looking past the ickys.recovering a chair

Another idea I thought was brilliant……you know how we love chalk board paint.  Well, she painted the inside of her pantry doors.  BRILLIANT!  Use this space to keep a grocery list……….so cute!

We did a whole wall with chalkboard paint in the “man den”..when my fellas were younger ( I have 5)..they loved it and it gave them and their buddies the chance to graffiti without any lasting damages!
