Stay Cool

Many of you are in the full swing of summer.  Some of us………like the ones living the Pacific NW have only had a few sips of summer and we’re ready.  One thing I love to do in the summer is just grab something good to drink, something refreshing and just sit outside.  If I can’t be by a pool, then my deck will do.  I’m not a huge soda drinker, but I do love trying other drinks.  My old stand by is sparkling water with vanilla stevia drops.

Amy with SHE WEARS MANY HATS sucked me right in today.  She sent me a post from stumble and I just loved her photography and how she made every recipe look and sound so good.  She also includes the recipes to all the items I am listing today, as well as many many others.

SUMMER DRINKS

If you have a sonic near where you live, then you may have driven through their drive thru during their happy hour for a Diet Cherry Limeade.  Mmmmm.  Her recipe isn’t diet, but I’m sure you could be creative on how to make it with no sugar.  I’d probably use spenda or stevia.  Her tutorials are beautiful!  Stunning.

Now I’ve placed lemons in plain water and oranges in sparkling water, but why haven’t I thought of placing cucumbers in water?  Brilliant.  It looks so pretty too.  Great idea.  It’s so much better than just serving boring ole water…….unless someone prefers it like that of course.  But this certainly adds personality to your table.

FROZEN COCONUT LIMEADE

If it’s slushy, then chances are I’ll love it!  I’m not a huge coconut fan, but I’d at least try it. And I’m sure I could use something different.  I believe this one has alcohol in it,(coconut rum…….didn’t know they made that)  so don’t let the kiddos sip off your glass.  Unless you’re trying to get them to sleep of course.  (yes, I’m very much teasing, no, I don’t advocate underage drinking or even lots of overage drinking, yes, I have a warped sense of humor, no I don’t need to hear about it)

coconut limeade Believe it or not, Amy does more than just drink.  She’s got decorating ideas, lots and lots of recipes and I’m loving her holiday embroidering table cloth she posted.

Her site is very enjoyable, she’s got a great blog voice.  One thing that confuses me is that I’m not listed on her Favorite blogs.  ???????? I’ll let it slide……..  :)

I don’t know why I don’t flavor the water pitcher at home. I always see the water with cucumbers at salons and spas (not that I’m at salons and spas very often) and I think “I’m going to do this” but it never occurs to me at home.
