Guess what I’m giving away today for Fabulous Friday Giveaway?  I think the big orange and pink letters gave it away. todays creative blog Probably much safer……..at least you won’t be tempted to buy a yummy donut too.  dunkin donuts coffeeI tried their original blend and I liked it!  Living in the NW, I’ve become a bit of a coffee snob…….it’s what we do here. But instead of just saying “hey, I liked it”, I thought I’d try a recipe using their coffee too. dunkin donuts coffee giveaway

I adapted the recipe from one I found on MyRecipes.com

Tangy Coffee Barbecue Sauce

BBQ sauce recipe using coffee

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup dunkin’ donuts brewed coffee
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar (I made my own)
  • 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce

Combine ketchup, coffee, brown sugar, onion flakes, garlic powder and chili powder in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; stir in pepper, balsamic vinegar and soy sauce.

Enter to win the Gift Basket!  One lucky winner will receive one bag of Original Blend, one bag decaf and 2 Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee Mugs.

Please leave me a comment telling me if you’ve ever used coffee in any recipe?  Or do you just prefer to drink it?  Oh I love my coffee.

I received compensation for this post, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t tell you the truth about how I feel about Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee!  I was happy to review it since I have never tried it before.  Would you like to try it?  Enter the giveaway and you can also visit their site to find coffee promotions, coupons, special offers and more.

I put a spoon of coffee into my morning oatmeal – so it is a 2 in 1 breakfast, food and wake-me-up drink in one bowl :D

  2. Kathy H says

I’ve used coffee in several recipes. I’ve made a chocolate cake and chili that both had coffee in them. It adds a richness to the flavor but not a strong taste that you could recognize. I miss Dunkin Donuts. When we lived in Maine we had one close by our home and we stopped in several time a week. We don’t have one where I live in SC. Sure do miss it! Be blessed.

I am a DD addict–I even bring some with me on vacation–just in case. I regularly use coffee in brownies, chocolate cake and chocolate icing. I also tried it in a brisket recipe–not a total success. In general, though, yummy!

Love Love Love my DD coffee. Being in the south it’s sometimes hard to find, but my grandmother used to send me a few bags from NY every holiday (thank God for Grandmothers!). I’ve used coffee in baking (cakes, brownies and cookies) but not so much in regular cooking. It makes dark chocolate cakes fabulous!

I am a coffee snob!! My b rother in law was nice enough to bring us a BIG can of another brand of coffee and refused it because we only drink Dunkin. He looked at me like I had two heads but that is one luxury we afford ourselves and it is COFFEE!! We have to drive 20 miles for dunkin, so we stock up.

I have used leftover coffee in many recipes – to add flavor to frosting, cakes, etc. I am certainly going to try your recipe and give it to my daughter – she is a bbq sauce junkie!!!

    Thank you for sharing!!

  16. Stacy says

  17. Jennie P. says

I love coffee! I have wanted to try Dunkin’ Donuts for a long time. Living in a rural area we don’t have any dunkin donuts. I would have tried it when they started selling the ground coffee in grocery stores but it was too expensive to try if it turned out I didn’t like it. Thanks for this chance!

But have thought about an IV bag once or twice……

I have never used coffee in an recipe as I consider myself a new coffee drinker. I started out with Starbucks, but that became too pricey, so my hubby and I had to find something to make at home that wasn’t too coffee-ish-tasting, but was cheaper. So, we’ve been drinking Yuban with some, or a lot of vanilla creamer. Anyway, so I’d be very interested in trying some Dunkin Coffee!!
