Dunkin Donuts Coffee Gift Basket Giveaway

Guess what I’m giving away today for Fabulous Friday Giveaway?  I think the big orange and pink letters gave it away. A Dunkin’ Donuts Gift pack!  We don’t have many Dunkin’ Donuts shops around here, so I was thrilled when they wanted me to review their coffee and even more thrilled to find out you can buy Dunkin’ Donuts Original Blend packaged coffee at the grocery store now!

But instead of just saying “hey, I liked it”, I thought I’d try a recipe using their coffee too. dunkin donuts coffee giveaway

I adapted the recipe from one I found on MyRecipes.com

Tangy Coffee Barbecue Sauce

BBQ sauce recipe using coffee

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup dunkin’ donuts brewed coffee
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar (I made my own)
  • 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce

Combine ketchup, coffee, brown sugar, onion flakes, garlic powder and chili powder in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; stir in pepper, balsamic vinegar and soy sauce.

  2. I put a spoon of coffee into my morning oatmeal – so it is a 2 in 1 breakfast, food and wake-me-up drink in one bowl :D

  3. I’ve used coffee in several recipes. I’ve made a chocolate cake and chili that both had coffee in them. It adds a richness to the flavor but not a strong taste that you could recognize. I miss Dunkin Donuts. When we lived in Maine we had one close by our home and we stopped in several time a week. We don’t have one where I live in SC. Sure do miss it! Be blessed.

    I am a DD addict–I even bring some with me on vacation–just in case. I regularly use coffee in brownies, chocolate cake and chocolate icing. I also tried it in a brisket recipe–not a total success. In general, though, yummy!

  17. I can’t think of any recipe that I’ve made that used coffee….but I sure do love to drink it! Right now, I have a gallon in my fridge that I use to make iced coffee (Pioneer Woman’s recipe) and it is delish! Would love to try some Duncan Donuts coffee as I’ve never had it before!!

  18. Love Love Love my DD coffee. Being in the south it’s sometimes hard to find, but my grandmother used to send me a few bags from NY every holiday (thank God for Grandmothers!). I’ve used coffee in baking (cakes, brownies and cookies) but not so much in regular cooking. It makes dark chocolate cakes fabulous!

    Oh coffee, I am not sure if you consider my home made Frappe a recipe, but it is made with coffee ice cubes. How about coffee frosting on a chocolate cake? YUM

    I haven’t cooked with coffee but I do drink alot of it. I do reuse my coffee ground and put them in the flower beds. They make good mulch for the worms. Love to win some Dunkin Donuts coffee, love it.

  33. I am a coffee snob!! My b rother in law was nice enough to bring us a BIG can of another brand of coffee and refused it because we only drink Dunkin. He looked at me like I had two heads but that is one luxury we afford ourselves and it is COFFEE!! We have to drive 20 miles for dunkin, so we stock up.

    I have used leftover coffee in many recipes – to add flavor to frosting, cakes, etc. I am certainly going to try your recipe and give it to my daughter – she is a bbq sauce junkie!!!

I would have tried it when they started selling the ground coffee in grocery stores but it was too expensive to try if it turned out I didn’t like it. Thanks for this chance!

  45. Oh, how I love coffee – I prefer to brew my own and pretty much drink it all day long. I love it so much it is a part of my website name (the wired part). Dunkin Donuts is my absolute favorite and we buy it in the big bags because you can never get enough. I haven’t used it in a recipe, I prefer to slurp it up. But have thought about an IV bag once or twice……

  58. i recently made a Coffee Cake that required a cup of fresh brewed coffee! it was YUMMY! and i love love love DD coffee. We used to live in Brunswick, ME and we were coffee snobs too. Since we’ve been stationed out west we miss those happy stops at DD. one of the things we are most looking forward to as we head back east this summer!!

  59. I have never used coffee in an recipe as I consider myself a new coffee drinker. I started out with Starbucks, but that became too pricey, so my hubby and I had to find something to make at home that wasn’t too coffee-ish-tasting, but was cheaper. So, we’ve been drinking Yuban with some, or a lot of vanilla creamer. Anyway, so I’d be very interested in trying some Dunkin Coffee!!

  67. I have my great grandmothers molasses spice cookies. It has a cup of brewed coffee in the recipe and they are so good.
