Nothing makes you prouder than when you make something yourself. It’s always a good feeling when you create something (that turns out) you can use in your home or give as a gift. My featured blogger has lots and lots of ideas and tutorials for making your home pretty with things you can make yourself. Of course she’s a Jones. (my maiden name)
Making Things for Your Home
To carry on with my new decoupage obsession I found a craft project this blogger made for her home using decoupage and and old text book. Decorating doesn’t have to be expensive and usually if you make it yourself, it adds more personality to your home. If my decoupage tutorial didn’t make sense, she also explains her process.
Making Art
She made 3 different art pieces from an old book.
Simple with a punch. (we have that same bed in our guest bedroom)
Making it Pretty
You are going to DIE over her office makeover. That chalkboard wall is stunning. A simple black wall makes a statement! So pretty! Notice the lettering at the top. Sigh.
How to Make a Stencil Template
Here’s the rest of the room and a better look at that stenciled wall………….cuz I know you looking at it. If you’ve got the patience, you will love her tutorial on how she did it. Beautiful room.
How To to Make a Wreath
Talk about adding character! You’re not going to find these wreaths at Target! My two favorite materials. Linen and Burlap. She has a great tutorial on how to make these wreaths, ruffles and all. So so cute!
Make a Pillow-
You know those cool grain sack pillows you see in the popular magazines? Emily decided it was time to make her own, one that wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg, one she wouldn’t have to worry about her 4 kids laying on. (yes, 4 children)
Emily shows us in a tutorial (she has great tutorials) how she used a kitchen rug to make this pillow. You gotta think outside the box sometimes! Love it.
You’ll love Emily’s site. You’ll be jealous of her decorating talent. You’ll be even more jealous when you see her shop of wonderfully designed stationary and printable art and papers. I’ve got my eye on a couple of her printables.
Alrighty…….I’ve done my job……..I found you another amazing blogger to fill you with inspiration. Now it’s time to do your job. Head on over and shower her with the code of TCB.

These are such great projects to work on. I really like the piece of art over the bed – so simple, looks awesome and such a calming color scheme. Fabulous.
