What’s in Your Laundry Soap?

Just Soap Have you ever looked to see what’s in the laundry detergent you clean your families clothes with?  Remember when I told you about the hormones in dryer sheets? (“dryer sheets can create xenoestrogens, a synthetic estrogen that builds up in fatty tissue and may affect the natural function of our hormone-producing glands” .)… { Continue Reading }

Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax Movie

You just never know who reads your blog.  So you can imagine I was THRILLED to receive an email asking if I’d be interested in working with Universal Pictures (YES! I said Universal Pictures!)  with their GET CREATIVE WITH the LORAX blog tour to help support and promote the Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax movie.  Lorax Movie Dr. Seuss

Of course I would!  It’s stuff like this that makes my son think I am the coolest mom in the world.  It’s stuff like this that makes me feel pretty cool for being asked.  Then the dog throws up and it’s back to reality. :)

My son thought it would be fun to make temporary tattoos with my tattoo paper and get the little guys next door involved.  He also thought using the LORAX pumpkin template somehow would be fun too. template for lorax images That’s when I remembered my friend Becca with Blue Cricket Designs suggested mustaches on a stick!  We had fur left over from his puppet days, so we were able to whip those up quickly for our little guys next door we had planned on tattooing.

How to make Temporary Tattoos

dr. seuss lorax movie

  1. Use special tattoo paper.  Mine is from Silhouette.
  2. I printed a few images from the movie onto the glossy side of the white sheets included in my tattoo paper kit.   Anything with wording will have to be a reversed image.
  3. Apply the 2nd step of tattoo paper. (The greenish one) You’ll need to peel it into two.  The sticky side goes directly on your image.
  4. use a scraper  to press the clear sticky tattoo paper to your images.  I used my pampered chef scraper.

Cut your tattoos into individual tattoos and follow the application directions.

These little guys were perfect! They were squirmy, goofy and full of energy.  They had a great time with the mustaches and one insisted he wanted the tattoo on his forehead…….after mom approved it, we went for it.  But I would suggest getting their hair out of the way first.

I personally can’t wait to see it.  Saving the trees is right up my alley.

Up next in the blog tour is KatyDid and Kid on Feb 3rd…..I’m eager to see what she came up with for her “Get Creative with The Lorax blog tour”
