I love scented pine cones! Nothing makes your home smell more festive than spicy cinnamon pinecones. Keep reading because my featured blogger is sharing how to make your own.

3 Meadow Lake Cottage

She’s from Washington!  Like me.  Maybe she can just come over and save me from my confused decorating self.  I mean if she can decorate her house so cute with triplets…….then surely she’ll have time for me, right? I don’t know if it’s a Washington thing or not…….but she also uses drop cloths for drapes.  I love the ones I used for my outdoor room and I’m getting ready to replace my slider drapes with them.  Might even have to use them for my new slip covers a friend is going to help me with (she’s sewing, I’ll just be standing there)

Maybe while my friend is sewing my slipcovers, I’ll grab an old book and start rolling pages and make a wreath!  Isn’t that cute?  She posted this wreath made by D. Reynes.

I love it.  So original.

How to Make Scented Pinecones

She’s been getting her house ready for Fall.  I love the tutorial on how to make your own scented pine cones.  Why haven’t I thought of that before?  I just buy the over powering ones from Micheal’s.  She’s got the full tutorial on her site.

If you like a coastal influence for decorating, then you’ll really enjoy her blog.

She’s thrifty with a good eye. Please surprise her with a comment from TCB.

  1. I can’t wait to see all the ideas for over the couch, mine is still empty!

  2. Ha Ha…:D I feel the same way …Its like you finish one space and move on to the next and by the time you’re kindof finished with that you feel that the first one needs some redoing and stuff and the cycle goes on and on!

  3. mixing seashells with pinecones is so unexpected and perfect! such a cool idea

  4. Love the wreath idea – how fun is that? And we always collect pine cones but have never tried scenting them. Will have to do that this year!

  5. Gorgeous!

  6. Great blog, gets better every day! Keep up the good work!!!

  7. I love the look of drop cloths for drapes. Do you think you could dye them to get more color in the room? The room I’m thinking of using them in already has walls the same color as the drop cloths. I’m afraid they’ll just blend in so much you won’t even see them. Lemme know what you think!
