My Repurposed Life
If I were this gals husband, I would be feeling pretty inferior or damn proud! She’s like the Wood Whisperer. Why buy wood for a project if you can just take apart an old bed, dresser or any other scrap you have laying around. I am convinced that Gail can make just about anything. Who are these ladies with such vision?
OK, I can see the potential in this fire place. The before is so so………80′s? Now I thought I loved paint, but Gail really kicks it up a notch. She is a regular in the oops paint section at Home Depot. She will paint anything if it sits still. Her fireplace transformation is daBomb! She has a hammer and she’s not afraid to use it.![]()
To go along with that new fireplace, a friend of hers told her she needed something……..some light. So she rummaged around in her garage, sawed on a few pieces of wood, glued here and there and made herself some candle sticks and accents for free. Added some of her ooops paint, placed them in the area you normally would burn a fire…….so cute.
She has several photos on her site on repurposing furniture items for other things. Great ideas. Here she took an old dated headboard.
And just like that…she’s got a new message center. What? You didn’t see that coming? Didn’t have that vision? Me either. But WOW!
This dresser was a cast off from a friend. It was pretty weathered, so she did what any of us would do…………she used paper bags to repurpose it. OK, I confess……I’ve never heard of that either. But I like it. Looks pretty cool. I would highly suggest rummaging through her photo library get a feel for all the items she creates from those old cast offs. I’m just warning you now………….you’ll feel very inadequate. But hey…… I can bake a mean muffin.

LOVE the message center! LOVE the repurposing!
