Melanie was also at Creative Estates. I really did meet her, but we didn’t get any photos to prove it. (sniff sniff)
Shy, beautiful and sweet. Had I known she was such a beautiful seamstress, I may have tried to get her to sign an agreement to sew me anything and everything I want. {evil laugh}
Quilting
We all know I don’t sew. And we all know how jealous I get when I see sewing projects. If you didn’t know that, you must be a new reader, because I whine about it at least once a month. I am consistently amazed by the projects people do with their sewing machines. Making quilts has got to be one of the hardest items…….at least I would think so. This gal would probably disagree since it looks like she’s whipped out a quilt at least once a week. Well, maybe not each week, but she’s done A LOT!!! They are really beautiful.This quilting thing is a family affair. Occasionally she has her 3ft assistant hold up the quilts………pretty cute. Or her husband will help since he’s tall and all.
I must say her fabric choices are perfect. The color combos give each quilt it’s own personality. Can you imagine having one of these on your bed? Heck, I’d be thrilled with myself if I could make a duvet cover……let alone a signature piece like these. Do her children know how lucky they are?
Why doesn’t she just rub it in. Fabric embellished pillow case?
Yes please. I’ll take a few of those. I know many of you would tell me this wouldn’t be hard at all. Whatever. These could match that duvet cover I am making in my sewing fantasy.
If I could sew, sewing slip covers would also be high on my list. If you’re in the Portland area and you’d like to teach me, just let me know. Better yet………you can just sew them for me.
This has nothing to do with sewing, but I think it’s a brilliant way to bring originality to your home. It’s economical too. Stenciling a shower curtain. Isn’t that cool? She’s got a tutorial on her site.
Off you go……….check her out!

- I didn’t get into the final five for the room makeover. (more sniff sniffing) But that’s OK, because I may have been too bossy if I would have won.
- How do you like my new design? I love it!
