Thanksgiving 2010

The Vintage Pearl Giveaway Winner is posted in the TCB Community

OK, I have food on the brain.  Maybe it’s because Thanksgiving is coming up, or that I’m carb deprived, or that maybe I’m just plain hungry.

A Southern Fairytale

I host Thankgiving every year.   So I’m looking at different menus, even though I know I’ll stick to the same stuff I always fix.  My husbands family likes what they like, so I have to be pretty smooth about sneaking in something new.  They did like the Winter Sangria I made last year.  That kept everyone happy since our meal was late in getting done.  Maybe if I serve enough of the Sangria, I could  really rock the boat and do something nontraditional…….. like serve roasted potatoes instead.

Roasted Seasoned Oven Potatoes

Or maybe for my appetizers, instead of the traditional relish plate, cheeses, olives and pickles,  I would make their head spin when I pull these babies out of the oven.

Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

Of course I would keep the turkey the same.  We usually do a Cuban recipe, but this one she has on her site looks pretty darn good.

Poblano Cilantro Roasted Turkey.

Green Bean Casserole

Speaking of traditional……..this is actually one dish I have never made.  But her recipe has me rethinking my plan.  It looks pretty good.

Why do what everyone else is doing…….why have pie just because it’s Thanksgiving.  This looks like a suitable replacement.

Pumpkin Pie Pudding

For dessert, I could really make their heads swim and serve this Pumpkin Pudding instead.

Her recipes look pretty tasty and what ever lens she’s using is making them look even better.

Her site is very easy to navigate, organizing recipes in categories, Tip & Tricks and Tools.

I learned to cut the spice of cayenne, add honey.  Hm…..who knew?

I know you’ll love her southern charm.

Enjoy!

Tomorrow is Get Your Craft On with an additional giveaway you’re not going to want to miss.
