The Creative Connection

For the past few months I’ve been working with Jo Packham, do work on The Creative Connection website and writing the blog for The Creative Connection.  Last year, I was invited to attend with 2 of my homies (cindy @ skip to my lou & Laurie @ tip junkie) to be their social media correspondents.  We tweeted, blogged and facebooked.  This year, I went as part of the staff.  I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.  I knew I’d be behind the scenes more.  I was in charge of the social media team who were nicknamed the “Blogging Posse” by other staff members………because these girls took care of me.  They checked in on me hourly, bringing me water, coffee, food.  I really wouldn’t have survived without their support!  I ended up being dubbed the “registration manager” and had a great team to work with.  It was crazy!  We worked 12-14 hour days checking everyone in, swapping classes, selling tickets to the Handmade market.  Fast paced and full of energy.  I did get out a couple of times to run with my posse…….so much fun.

We took a couple of classes at the Crocus Hill Cooking school…….part of the conference.  One class was taught by Cristina Ferrare.  cristina ferrare

She was great!  We took her by storm!  She even gave me a hug.  But you can see I’m a little surprised with her enthusiasm.

I don’t have much to report to you all, but I can direct you to some fabulous posts by others!  Shelley from House of Smiths has a great post.

Even though I didn’t get to hang with the crowd, I did get to spend lots of time with the blogging posse……..I love these girls!

I have never laughed so hard.

All these photos are from Shelley.  I took NONE and am thankful they are sharing with me.  Shelley also decided she wanted to practice headshots.  As you can see, she also practiced a bit of photoshop.  I forgot what I looked like with no wrinkles under my eyes.  Ahh, to be 25 again. Kim Demmon

Another nice surprise was getting to know Nancy Soriano and her best friend Deb.  Such beautiful women inside and out.  Nancy was the chief executive editor of Country Living Magazine for years and has collaborated with Jo to bring The Creative Connection to a reality. Fascinating!

Becky Higgins did a GREAT video.

I am 90% recovered and have slept more this week than in the last month.  I need to thank all my guest posters who kept TCB going this past week.  I hope you enjoyed seeing some past features and their favorite crafts.

I’m starting to work on my Holiday Gift Guide, so if you’re interesting in being a part of it, let me know.  KrjdemmonATgmailDOTcom
