Valspar
Valspar is my new best friend. You are going to die when you see all the cool things you can do with Valspar antiquing glaze. They really should be paying me or my feature for the promotion. My feature today uses Valspar on EVERYTHING! She is the queen on picking up those unwanted 1970s items from Goodwill and working her magic with some paint and a teeny bit of Valspar glaze. Like these keys below.
Would you have bought those looking all 70s? Once blue……..I likey. She sells most of her treasures in her etsy shop.
The Speckled Dog
She’s amazing. She has all kinds of projects to look through to keep you busy. What I love is that they are not expensive projects. Most everything you see has been picked up at your local Goodwill. SCORE!
Loving this cheese plater cloche thing. She was using it in her bathroom for a bit, but out grew the color and the shells. I love the new look! She used matching scrapbook paper inside. Another Genius.
She picked these little birds up from The Dollar Store. They have lots of tacky nic nacks……but add some Valspar glaze and you’ve got a favorite decorating piece. Can’t beat that deal with a stick!
I have seen these! That thing below……
What are they anyway? Are they for jewelry? Cuz that’s what she’s using it for…….I need that!
I’ve seen these before too………but now that I know what to do with it, I’ll never see another one again. Holding those little plants……..I think this is my favorite.
Another jewelry organizer. I can’t wait to head to Goodwill. She sells all this stuff in her Etsy shop if you can’t find it to re-do.
You’ll never look at Salt & Pepper shakers the same. SO SO SO CUTE!
OK, one more to make you squeal! That turquoise frame should be in my house.
{{stepping onto soap box}} Here’s the deal. I bring you amazing blogs to drool over and after you clean yourself up, you leave that amazing blog a nice comment. My feature yesterday STILL has no idea she was featured. What has this world come to? If YOU were featured, wouldn’t YOU want to know by receiving a bunch of nice comments? {{ stepping down}}
I hope you’ve left me a comment sometime in January. All comments are entered to win a necklace from Allora Handmade.
I also still have a few spots available in my Creative Girls Valentine Gift Guide. Email me. krjdemmonATgmailDOTcom

love love love these! amazing what a little bit of paint can do!
i stopped in at Cotton Hill…she had like 110 comments but of course i left another one. i try to visit everyone you feature but i admit with the holidays i got a little lazy!
i needed the soap box lecture. thanks for that!
I have an old frame that I started painting (I was thinking of making a chalk board in the kitchen and I HATED the color I chose (of course it is a gallon can and I was going to use it for the trim in the kitchen) I HATED IT. But what a great idea to try. Valspar glaze, if I can remember that (because I am old and antique myself) I am going to try that on my frame. With my chalk board paint. So I can leave a “Honey Do” list every day.
Ah-Mazing! or as I say on my blog, totally Rawsome!! Ok, I’ve been re-inspired. After the gym, I am headed to our local goodwill.
xoxo

See…this is why follow your blog…to continue to help me learn to see things for what they can be…not just what they are on the shelf. I love these pieces!
I didn’t see the “birds.” I love everything else though!!!! I have seen those things at Goodwill and passed them up…now, I’ll know better!
Excellent feature!
Awesome post! What cute ideas!!!
Oh wow! Thanks so much for the feature, Kim! You have no idea how much I appreciate it! You blog was one of the first few crafty blogs that I started reading and I’ve kinda dreamed of being a feature one day. Thanks so much for making it a reality!
Amazing transformations, you gotta love the thrift stores!
I love it! Maximum impression with minimum effort! And the result is so lovely!!
Love all your posts……
Thanks for bringing us great things in the craft world.
Wow!
Love your stuff!
I love Valspar paint, too. Right now, they are giving samples out while supplies last at their site. They have a limited number of samples each day and reset at midnight Central time. With the sample, you get a $5 off coupon on a gallon. Great deal! Blessings
i may give up jewelry just to have time to do THIS! ok, not really…but it’s awesome. so so cool!
These are so awesome!!!
I love the way you take something that looks new and turn it into something that looks 50 years old. Who knew that would be a trend in todays world. Very different when people always seam to want something new.
neat ideas for old things.. the things turned into jewelry holders with wire hooks are measuring cup and spoon holders originally.. I have some in my kitchen now.. love the new use for them
i have to wonder how many items i have thrown out that i could have transformed. i want to go hunt some items down now!
What great projects!
Everything you’ve changed is beautiful! You sure know how to pick perfect colors!
I am new to reading blogs (just got a laptop for Christmas!), and yours is one of my favorites! I especially like the “a” list! Thank you!
I am also pretty new to crafting….never thought I could do it myself. So, my comment/question is…..Do you just find something that needs a lift (other than a body part!), paint it any color you would like, and then use Valspar? How do you get the chippy look? Is there a tutorial somewhere? Can you help a beginner?
Blessings!
These are not my projects. If you visit the blog I featured, and poke around….you’ll bump into her tutorials. Good luck
Great feature! Kristi is awesome and really talented. Love her stuff.
So cool! Now I’m in the mood to go thrifting!
This feature really makes me want to go and paint something. Thanks for sharing!
Now I will have to go and buy me some Valspar. Love the look.
Yay! I just love their deep&midrange colors-cool names, such depth! And the faux’s? Who needs RalphLauren glazes w Valspar & Altar’d recipes to make ur own?

Beautiful work! I had to “go to town” today, so I made a stop at Lowes and got some of the antiquing glaze. Cannot wait to try it. I have lots of thrift store finds that are wood. My son-in-law works for Valspar, but he does the coating inside Spam cans and soda cans. Anyway, love your blog.
Thank you Linda, I’m so glad this post inspired you to get busy!! I wonder if your son in law could get you a discount?
